The DELF Junior is an official diploma certifying adolescents’ French language proficiency, issued by the French Ministry of National Education.
Recognized worldwide and valid for life, it assesses the first four levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), from A1 to B2.
Designed for young French or non-French learners, the DELF Junior highlights their skills through age-appropriate themes and situations, in a non-school setting.
The DELF Junior consists of a group written exam and an individual oral exam.

Exam Notification
The individual oral exam will take place during the same week as the group (written) exam. The dates listed on the AFBE website and on the registration form correspond to the group exams.
You will receive your official exam notification by email at least two weeks before the start of the group exams.
If you wish to take your individual exam at a specific time or date, please email examens@alliancefr.be before the registration deadline. We will accommodate your request as far as possible. No special requests will be accepted after the registration period.
Results and Certificate
A certificate of achievement or results will be provided to you as soon as the results are announced or sent by mail (postal charges at your expense). Your diploma will be available 3 months after your exam at the reception of the Alliance Française Brussels-Europe. It can also be sent to you upon request (postal charges for registered mail at your expense).

Arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of the exam. Any late arrival once the exam has begun will result in permanent exclusion from the test.

Bring a valid official ID on the day of the exam (photocopies are not accepted) along with your exam notification.

The written exams are on paper. Only black or blue pens (ballpoint or ink) are allowed for writing on your answer sheet during the exam.

The use of electronic devices is strictly prohibited (smartwatches, smartphones, laptops, recorders, etc.).*

During the exam, candidates are not allowed to communicate with each other or with anyone outside, nor to share materials (pens, rulers, etc.). Any attempt at cheating will be penalized.*
*Cheating or attempting to cheat may result in a ban from taking the exam for up to five (5) years.

The AFBE provides any candidate who declares a disability affecting physical, sensory, mental, cognitive, or psychological functions with the necessary equipment or personnel assistance to ensure the proper conduct of the French exams.
To do so:
- The candidate must declare their disability at the time of registration by emailing examens@alliancefr.be and as early as possible so that AFBE can implement the appropriate accommodations.
- They must provide an official document from a medical authority indicating the diagnosis and specifying the recommended accommodations for a foreign language exam.
This certificate must be no older than 2 years at the date of the exams.
