The Diplôme d’Études en Langue Française (DELF) and the Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française (DALF) are official diplomas issued by the French Ministry of National Education.

They certify French language proficiency for personal, professional, or academic purposes, are recognized worldwide, and are valid for life. Depending on the level obtained, they can enhance a CV, facilitate access to employment, university, or certain prestigious schools, and—at the DELF B1 level—enable applicants to obtain French nationality.
