Synopsis
At the foot of an apartment building, like those in every city, there is a couch. On this couch, three guys. They’re not just hanging out, mind you. They’re “grinding.” In other words, they’re selling stuff, and don’t ask if it’s legal.
All we know is that the job is inclusive, and that’s saying something. Because in the neighboring area, three girls, yes, yes, are named “grinders of the month” every month.
They are badass; the guys are brash.
To Mizoo, Le Roux, and Beno, they are simply the Girls Next Door. To us too, as this subtle play of rivalry and seduction joyfully reminds us of a sitcom by AB Productions, in a street version and suburban comedy style! And yet… It is indeed with an RTBé mini-series of the same name that any resemblance is not purely coincidental, as yes, this is an adaptation!
From October 3 to November 9
Synopsis
For Marcel, Thibaut Nève had a dream: to create a show about Marcel Proust, to explore his genius, his bravery, his masculinity (and his own, in passing). Together with his colleague Jessica Gazon, they took on this colossal work to offer an adaptation with a chiaroscuro and mysterious tone. A tango between masculinity and domination. And then, the unexpected happened…
Following this event, Marcel·le arrives. Because they have not said their last word. New approach, new playgrounds, new mise en abyme.
But shush… we won’t say more!
Because that is indeed one of the strengths of this subtle and biting show: to go against the grain, to lead us where we perhaps didn’t want to go, and to force us to question our perceptions. Marcel•le is a gem of boldness, deconstructing gender relations through uproarious and unsettling humor.
From October 17 to November 23
Synopsis
This is the story of a (not so) original band: Anna (the real Lio), Serge (Riton Liebman), and Fred (Erico Salamone) formed the rock group that every teenager dreamed of forming back in the day… You know the type: the kind of band that enjoys a little success on pirate radio, where the singer dates the guitarist while being in love with the bassist, and that fancies itself inseparable. Until the day life gets serious, and they split up. Yep.
The two boys have kept in touch, more or less. Not Anna. It would take a nuclear war—or worse, a reunion concert—for them to see her again…
Well, they get both! In the course of one (perhaps final…) evening on the edge, they manage to make you laugh by revisiting, one by one, the tenets of good old Sex, Drugs & Rock’n’Roll (R.I.P. Ian Dury…), all while praying for just one thing: not to get caught by their kids.
From December 5 to January 11
Synopsis
As a responsible organizer, the TTO disclaims all liability but prefers to warn. This play exposes the audience to two types of serious accidents: a ruptured eardrum and/or a dropped jaw.
For your information (for example, for your insurance), here are the conditions of the incident: the pianist Cosme McMoon (Achille Ridolfi) recounts the sharp and surprising fate of Florence Foster Jenkins (Julie Duroisin), a wealthy American heiress who became famous for reinventing herself as a coloratura soprano and… butchering the most famous pieces of the classical repertoire. Between her melodic approximations and her costumes not recommended for epileptics, let’s just say they’ve shot horses for less than that…
One thing is certain: the singer “who sang divinely off-key,” who already inspired two films (one with Catherine Frot, the other with Meryl Streep), as well as Hergé’s Castafiore, will not leave you unscathed!
From January 23 to February 22
Synopsis
The question is both dizzying and vague: what could we talk about? The weather? Too consensual. The kids? Too depressing. Politics? Too touchy!
Fair warning: after Formica, the Sunday family chicken-and-applesauce lunch will never taste the same again. Or perhaps it won’t taste at all. Because what this three-act tragicomedy reveals is the emptiness of those moments of false conviviality. When hypocrisy rubs shoulders with boredom, when boredom leads to stagnation, when stagnation gives rise to anxiety. And when anxiety pours in… laughter follows. Yours!
Adapted from the comic book of the same name by Fabcaro (the author of Zaï zaï zaï zaï), Formica promises to leave you torn. Between absurdity and ultra-realism, between satire and farce, between situational comedy and razor-sharp dialogues. Dig in!
