What is the DFP RI?

The Diplôme de Français Professionnel – Relations Internationales (DFP RI) is a certification awarded by the Paris Île-de-France Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIP). It certifies proficiency in French within a diplomatic, political, and international context. As such, the Alliance Française Bruxelles-Europe is authorized by the CCIP to organize the DFP RI exams, thanks to its strong commitment to developing professional Francophonie in the European capital.

The diploma is available at multiple levels (B1 to C1 of the CEFR) and includes both written and oral exams:

Comprehension and Information Processing

  • Understand key elements of informational documents, such as numerical data, short press articles, excerpts from protocol guides, or regulations.
  • Process or complete common professional documents, such as data commentaries, press reviews, event preparation sheets, job application forms, or country profiles.
  • Select provided elements to organize them in a given format and draft simple formal emails for information requests, responses, or confirmations in common professional situations.

Oral Interaction

  • Establish social and professional contacts to engage in common workplace exchanges, such as presenting one's institution, describing a country's situation or a mission, and explaining or negotiating key aspects of an action.
  • These skills are assessed through specific tests adapted to the candidate’s level (B1, B2, or C1) and include tasks such as writing summaries, reports, formal emails, as well as delivering oral presentations and conducting negotiations.
